ABOUT US

Salto is a student-run organization that brings the art of ballet and lyrical style dance to the University community.  We aim to express ourselves creatively and inspire other people to appreciate these dance forms. The company was founded in fall of 2009 by Anna Badalian and Lizzi Shea, and was formed to provide an outlet for ballet and lyrical dancers on campus, and to give them an opportunity to develop as choreographers, dancers, and creative thinkers. Since then, Salto has grown to be an established dance group on the U of M campus with both dance majors and non-dance majors of all undergraduate years.

Salto currently practices two times a week at Kenville Dance Studios on the U of M campus. The company hosts two performances a year on campus, and guest performs for events such as: Dance Mix, Dance Marathon, UMix, Cadence Dance, Relay for Life, the Eastern Michigan University Autism Collaborative Center, Huron Woods Nursing Home, Dance to Empower, and more.
